Josh Harp was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He grew up in a large family that listened to many different types of music. Josh liked them all! His first brush with the Blues was when he was 8 years and got to see BB KING live at a free concert in downtown Chattanooga in the '7'0's. At the age of 10 years old he was watching local street performer legend BOOTS ROOTS, perform in front of the Incline Railway in St. Elmo. He started playing guitar, harmonica and saxophone at the age of 12. Josh really got into the blues at the age of 16 after attending a free outdoor street festival called the BESSIE SMITH STRUT in 1982 in downtown Chattanooga. He saw up close and in person, such legendary Blues performers like ALBERT KING, KOKO TAYLOR, GATEMOUTH BROWN, to name a few.
Soon after he completed his degrees in Political Science and Education from UTC, Josh moved to Chicago in 1990. He started working at the Chicago Public Library and playing with some of Chicago's leading Blues musicians. During this time, Josh also had many theater friends in Chicago that invited Josh and his band for music gigs at some of the top theaters in Chicago. Josh played many theater parties and held a weekly gig at the GASLIGHT CORNER BAR in Chicago during the mid 1990's. Josh started playing gigs in Europe during the early 2000's. He held a weekly gig at BUDDY GUY'S LEGENDS in the summer of 2003. He moved to South Florida in 2004, then to Los Angeles, California in 2006.
As a Certified Teacher, Josh started working for the Los Angeles unified school district shortly after arriving in Los Angeles in 2005. Soon after he started playing music gigs in Los Angeles as well.
In 2010, Josh started working as an actor. Taking lessons, attending workshops and taking any acting job available. Over the years, Josh has developed a unique acting style. He has worked in numerous Films, Music Videos and Commercials.

Today, Josh still continues to write music, occasionally plays music live, work as an Actor, and work for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
